Accept It, Embrace It, Learn From It

I love to learn! And what’s funny about that statement is that I’m actually a high school drop out….

It could be argued I was voted most likely to fail in my high school yearbook, and I finally did graduate from high school it just took me an extra few years.

I didn’t do good in the traditional educational environment but outside of that, I flourished. I read stuff that interested me, I tried my hands at different jobs and businesses. But nothing taught me more than actually DOING the tasks. Putting the axe to the grindstone and actually doing the work.

Part of becoming a successful entrepreneur is the ability to learn from your experience.

I’m reading a new book called The Only Sales Guide Your’ll Ever Need by Anthony Iannarino and in it he talks about the important of optimism. He lists a few traits we need to further our careers in sales (or any internet based business) and ends with this piece of advice…

“Things will go wrong, but will still work out in the end so we must….Accept it, Embrace it and Learn From It….”

Learn from it…

Learning your craft takes years and mastering it may take even longer. And part of that journey is the ability to roll with the punches and come out better because of your experiences.

If we keep failing over and over again without changing something we are doing, that’s a huge indication that we aren’t learning. Learning is adapting, and the ability to put what we learn into practice is such a vital part of your personal and professional growth I can’t say it enough.

Always be learning!

And while some of us learn by reading, watching videos, attending live seminars, listening to podcasts or audiobooks, I would argue that nothing is a better teacher than actually doing the work.

Experience breeds mastery!

So going forward, as an entrepreneur I would encourage you to roll with the punches. Learn from your experiences and become better at sunset than you were at sunrise 🙂

    1. Thanks Nancy! Yup, the roller coaster ride that is entrepreneurship is a journey for sure. So we might as well buckle in and enjoy the ride 🙂
