Find Your Sweet Spot & Get Massive Results

In the last blog post we did on Plus 1, we talked about a goal setting challenge that we could all take part in. The end result was to find our 3 most important goals so that we could focus on them and start to see massive changes in our lives and business.

The formula was simple enough….Spend 2 weeks to write down our top 10 goals for the year. And then after those 14 days, narrow it down to our top 3….

We are looking for our ‘sweet spot’.

I’m reading John C. Maxwell’s 5 Levels of Leadership right now and in it, he talks about his mentor John Wooden. Just do a quick google search of John Wooden to understand how important this guy was to leadership and coaching. And John had a very unique way of coaching his players…

Instead of telling his players to become ‘great’ at shooting the basketball from everywhere on the court, John taught them to find their ‘sweet spot’. The area on the court where they shot the highest percentage of baskets and then practiced to become even better at those ‘spots’.

Crazy right?

Aren’t we supposed to be a jack of all trades and a master at none? It would seem so in today’s day and age however this type of thinking can change your life when you narrow it down…

You see, we might not be made to shoot 3 point shots, but we can take it to the rim (excuse the sports analogy there lol). We may not be a great programmer but we can write a blog post every few days. Or maybe we just don’t have the talent to jump up on camera and talk to an audience for hours at a time, but we can become invaluable at administrative areas of business.

You see, when we FOCUS and prioritize our goals, we can become GREAT at certain things. Just not great at everything.

And that’s ok. Embrace what you are great at. No matter what it is. Develop the habits to become better at those parts of your life and business. Deliver value to our customers by using your gifts!

We don’t need more ‘Swiss Army Knife Marketers’ however we do need more targeted experts!

  1. Good points Jon. I think speaking for myself as a solo entrepreneur, I have a tendency to want to learn how to do it all instead of focusing on what I love to do and am good at. I am learning as time goes on to let go and outsource things to others..its worth paying for them so I can do the more important tasks for my business.

    1. Oh I completely hear you on that.

It’s tough because we literally want to try and do it all.

However, the more focused we are at what we excel at, we can outsource other stuff and build our craft 🙂

  2. Jon,

Aren’t we supposed to be a jack of all trades ?

I wasted couple years listening to those experienced
newbies, go join a bunch of programs and not keep
all the eggs in one basket, because half of those
programs are doom to fell. Still to this day, the same
message is told over and over again. The blind leading
the blind and the experienced newbie still not a master
of a program other than being a master program jumper.

I don’t know Carla up above, but looking over her blog and
clicking on one of the archive years, I landed on some
comments about ClixSense, how she stated that it was
not on the do list and how it didn’t work out for her.

With CS with over 7 million members I would say well over
50% are not active simply because they did learn how to
make money on CS. Me, being an active member since
Feb. of 2007, I only had 92 personal referrals, but over
8,000 members through the 8 levels and got paid $1.00
on every member that was active, but once again, all
those 8,000 members couldn’t make heads or tails
    how to make the money.

But the last few years, CS made some changes. Even
members in the 3rd world countries are making $5 – $10
    – $20 a day. I’ve even seen some that have made $100.00
in one day ( That was an all day event doing tasks, surveys )

With new changes, sponsors get paid 20% daily for life on
all active personal referrals of what they gross for the day.

That’s right, rather I’m active or not daily, I receiving 20%
sponsor bonus, as long as I log in my account within 90 days
to keep my account from being suspended to keep from
    forfeiting my commissions.

I’ve always told newbies that are short on cash to be active
on CS and then take those earnings to invest into a program
to build residual monthly income and stay focused and become
a master of one program and not a jack of all trades to only
    be a master of nothing.
