Life

Please bear with me as I pour my heart out on a blog 🙂

My wife and I were getting ready for bed on Thursday evening last week and received a nice little surprise. Our son Isaiah was expected in the middle of August so you can say I was a little shocked to hear my wife call out…

“I think my water broke…”

Water? Breaking? Isn’t that not supposed to happen for another month….So like the confused man I was I simply reply…

“Are you sure?”

What kind of question is that? Meanwhile my wife is looking at me with a confused look on her face and of course…With her water all over the bed…To which she simply says…

“I think so…”

And that was the start of my face to face encounter with Isaiah Jaydon Glenn Olson. Born a few weeks before full term on July 14th, 2017….

Funny thing, I have gone through this before…

Almost 16 years ago to be exact with the birth of my first bundle of joy Matthew 🙂

But when they say each time a new child is born it’s unique and special...I completely understand now.

The labor was long but delivery was quick. My wife did awesome and has been such a champion since he was born…

My son came into this world healthy and bubbly, but because he was 35 weeks, he was considered premature. So for the past few nights, my wife and I have been by his side, while Matthew has been taking care of the house and our little zoo full of pets.

Life.

It’s pretty awesome!

I’m not going to get too mushy mushy here but something really struck me on both of my sons birth dates.

It cemented my reason ‘why’ more than ever.

I reminded me how blessed and lucky I am to have the woman of my dreams as my wife and partner. It showed me how God continues to pour his blessings onto me, for which I am not deserving. It just makes everything so…Real.

When Matthew was born, I was a 24 year old kid who thought he knew it all. But more importantly he taught me responsibility and I’m so grateful for him. At 40 years of age, Isaiah reminded me that I have so much more to learn. And so much more to give to my family and to my business and yup, try to leave this world a better place than when I came into it.

It brings it all home. It really does.

Purpose. A reason why….All bundled up in about 6 pounds of baby boy.

Thank you Theda, for being my best friend and becoming the amazing mother I know you have dreamed about.

Thank you Matthew for being such an awesome kid and I know how much your brother is going to look up to you. (and not only cause you are 6’2″ already….)

And thank you Isaiah, for reminding me once again…What my reason why truly is!

Welcome to the welcome kid, it’s a rough one….But you’ve got a big family and an even bigger God that loves you to the end of time! We promise to support you and love you forever.

Isn’t our God Awesome. Welcome to your new Life Isaiah. Thank Matthew for taking care of the house while your Dad and Mom are at the hospital. Isaiah is beautiful, Theda and Jon. No newborn ruddy, just a handsome new family member to both you Dad’s online family and your God-given family. May they teach U the things God would have U learn.
