law of attraction

Like Attracts Like…

Oh man, he’s gone off the deep end…He’s into that ‘Law of Attraction’ stuff….

Take a look at that title for a blog post huh?

O.K. before anyone thinks I’m trying to become the next Tony Robbins, let me give you a quick story on why I believe in the law of attraction (to an extent) and how the right mindset can help our Steem journeys tremendously.

So what is the law of attraction?

Wikipedia defines it as:

“In the New Thought philosophy, the Law of Attraction is the belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person’s life. The belief is based on the idea that people and their thoughts are both made from pure energy, and that through the process of like energy attracting like energy a person can improve their own health, wealth, and personal relationships.”

And it’s not exclusive to the ‘new thought’ movement. This concept of thinking something and it will come to life is biblical as well. Mark 11:24 states “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours..” And Proverbs 23:7 famously states; “As he thinketh in his heart, so is he….

So do I believe in the law of attraction….Absolutely!

However, I don’t believe that if we ‘think hard enough‘ about lots of money, a million dollars will magically appear in our hands…But I do believe, our attitude, and our actions…Attracts similar attitudes and actions.

And while I was scrolling around social media tonight, I thought this quote by best selling author Simon Sinek summed it up best…

So that was quite the introduction to my post…What does this all mean to us on STEEM?

Have you heard the complaints?

Are you up to date with all the drama?

Or are you too busy trying to ‘attract’ the right people into your circle and onto STEEM?

I don’t know about you, but sometimes the drama attracts me like a moth to the flame…I can’t help but read up on what’s going on. Who is arguing with who. Why this person is raging on that person….

But what does that do to my life or experience here on Steem?

I’ll tell you what it does….It ‘attracts’ more of the same behaviour.

Think about it…..

I have spent countless hours and I’m sure you have too, reading the drama…Seeing who is debating with who about this upcoming hardfork…Or take whatever drama of the week you wish and insert it into this example.

We are obsessed with it all. And when this happens, our productivity comes to a screeching halt.

We whine and complain about all the things wrong on Steem, but are the first ones to find a good argument, grab some popcorn and sit down for a few rounds.

Or what about this hardfork…Everyone is so concerned about what the whales are going to do…Are they going to curate more people? How about we concern ourselves with what we are going to do? Want more upvotes, give more upvotes! Wanna see better curation…Start becoming better at curation!

Be the change you want to see in the world is the popular quote…And I think it hold true here on Steem.

This law of attraction stuff can either be our best friend or worst enemy. And sadly, we seem to spend more time debating the issues, instead of raving about how GREAT this blockchain is.

It’s not perfect but wow….It’s still pretty impressive.

This post is meant to shake us all up a little bit…And start focusing on what we want to become here. Make the changes needed to attract the right people to onboard. Showcase the awesome people of Steem….

And then I think, this law of attraction becomes real for all of us.

Thoughts at 11:37pm…..

I hope you enjoyed it and got some value from it!
