Do You Have a 10 Year Game Plan For Success?

It’s amazing what you learn about success from every day life…

Fair warning, I’m a fan of hip hop music! So this is a little biased but I came across some lyrics from one of the hottest artists out right now, and he happens to be from my hometown of Toronto….Drake. I had to re-read this a few times to understand how powerful this short verse impacts all of us in the business world…

success

For those that can’t read my hand writing (which is basically everyone on planet earth lol) here is what it reads;

“I’m tired of hearing ’bout who you are checkin’ for now; Just give it time, we’ll see who’s still around a decade from now…”

10 years! Are we going to be as relevant in 10 years as we are today in our chosen industry? Makes you think, in an industry of get rich quick schemes, new program launches and hype machines like Bitcoin ‘opportunities’…How do we stay relevant in 10 years from now?

Now given, the product or service you offer has got to be great. That goes without saying. I mean I’m assuming that your products and services are fantastic and deliver great value to your customers. So the next problem is…How do we make sure they remain relevant and continue to add value for the years to come.

I truly believe it comes from passion. It comes from momentum. And if you are delivering both of those, you will become a distant memory.

Think you it….

People have so many choices in today’s economy. They have companies and individuals pulling for their attention from every angle so unless your message (product / service) is remarkable and sticks out, you will get lost in the noise.

You can tackle this by being FIRED up for your business. Having the passion for what you do is a huge factor in long term success.

I know passion is a buzzword these days, but people follow ACTION takers! And you won’t take a single step of action unless you love what you do. And that’s where passion comes in.

That in turn, builds momentum.

The more passion have and action you take, the ball starts to roll. And people will be attracted to someone who actually DOES things and does them with passion. So once the ball gets rolling, it’s important to keep it going.

We do this, every day….And every week, month and year, we will be relevant. We will stick out from the noise. And we will be a success 10 years from now!

  1. Agreed Jon, The more passion you have for what you do, the more likely you are to do the things that aren’t as much fun but are important. Keep your passion and action going… you will still be going strong for many years to come because if you love what you are doing you will never work a day in your life!

    1. It’s the only thing you can really control…Your attitude and passion towards your industry and business. Everything else, can just be a distraction, but when you focus on that…You will always do well 🙂 Thanks so much for the comments Carla!

  2. Yes, by setting realistic goals to be achieved within a realistic amount of time, there will be less people falling for “get-rich-quick” schemes and certainly less people calling out scams for no reason. Love the being FIRED up by your business part 🙂

    1. Thanks very much for the comments sir. Yeah for sure. We need to set realistic goals and achievable ones to ‘get momentum moving’.

  3. I’m certainly not a fan of Hip Hop, but I’m bias for good reason.

Warren Buffett, one the top three richest people in world as we are lead to believe. Jacob Rothchild’s family is worth over $500 Trillion dollars and most people have never heard of him.

Warren Buffett says, if you’re not willing to own a business for 10 years, don’t own it for 10 minutes. I agree.

Warren Buffett has the passion of making money in supply and demand products or services.

Warren Buffett’s favorite holding time is forever, but when necessary, he’s not afraid to break his own rule and sell.

You can’t sell passion. A person must have the burning passion inside.
