This is one of the shortest books I’ve ever read and while it’s not like reading War & Peace, it’s absolutely jam packed with amazing content…
The title alone, says a lot! We never wanna be the first to change, even though deep down we know the huge benefits of adapting and moving forward. And as someone in business for myself and co-owner of an online enterprise I got a lot of value from this compact book on leadership, growth and business.
First up, because of the length of the book (just over 100 pages) it’s very easy to read. The authors Mac Anderson and Tom Feltenstein do a great job of breaking down each ‘21 ways to inspire change‘ and end it with a powerful quote to hammer down their point.
“It All Starts With Belief” was my favorite way to inspire change…Think about it, we can be our own worst enemy but also our own best inspiration. The example they talk about is how a sales team in a large company kept telling themselves over and over again that they would be the top team for the year.
Through the battles, challenges and successes, they kept telling this to each other…’We would be the best!‘ They BELIEVED they would be on top and true enough, they reached the pinnacle and won the yearly competition their company had in place to reward the top performers of the year.
The chapter then ends with this quote…”A good leader inspires people to have confidence in their leader. A great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves…”
Love it! Be the change YOU want to see in the world first.
(Another example of the powerful quotes found throughout the book…)
That’s just on chapter but you get the idea…The book showcases real world examples and then hammers the point home with a powerful quote that will leave you feeling inspired and motivated to tackle the challenges of the day.
I recommend this book and it’s perfect for people that are looking for a quick boost and don’t need to spend a month reading a great leadership book.
