My Top 3 Books Of 2016

I did this for 2015, so I figured I’d create a short list of the books I enjoyed the most reading over the past 12 months. This is by no means a complete list, because there has been quite a few that I have really enjoyed reading. However these 3 really stuck out to me this year. I hope you enjoy the list…

1. The Art of People by Dave Kerpen – I did a review of this book in July and consider this one of my favorite books in recent memory. It really hit home to me because it was branded as the ‘How To Win Friends and Influence People’ for today’s generation. A huge statement but it delivered as promised. Dave’s unique way of story telling combined with his exercises at the end of each chapter really got me thinking on how to improve my relationship with customers, friends and family because at the end of the day….It’s people that matter most!

2. O Great One! by David Novak – Oh boy this was an awesome read. I did a review of this one as well in June and have been thinking about it since. What a powerful message and great parable. It showed readers the importance of recognition in today’s world and how not only does it make one feel good to recognize team players and associates, it drives productivity in such a unique and effective way. This is a book I will be reading again and again!

3. Hug Your Haters by Jay Baer – Not sure why I didn’t review this book for Plus 1 but regardless this was an absolute joy to read. If you are in business, you know all too well about the ‘haters’ that your actions and opinions can attract. In this book, Jay Baer challenges you to not look at a hater as a hinderance but actually as a blessing in disguise. Packed with real world examples on how to ‘hug your haters’ this is a must read for anyone in business today!

I’m super excited for 2017 as I’ve got a small library worth of books I’m ready to start reading…What was your favorite books of 2016? And what’s on your book shelf for 2017? I’d love to hear your recommendations!
